Hey there, hi there, ho there!!!
You’re as welcome as can be!!!
Hello and welcome everyone to the Wonderful World of Disney group here on deviantART. Before we get started let me, in the name of all the admins, tell you how much we appreciate your decision to join us. Thank you so much for actually becoming part of our little Disney fanart community – we are sure that you’ll be a real enrichment for our gallery!!!
If you decide (after reading these rules, of course) to join us, then just click on the “Join our Group” button on top of the group page. Normally a joining request will be accepted by our team within a few hours.
Please note that we don’t take group notes or comments on our profile page, asking us to invite you, into consideration – just hit the mentioned button like everyone else does.
First of all DO NOT use the “Submit Art” button on the top of our page since it caused quite a lot of problems in the past - people who’d hit that button weren’t able to pick the correct folder and everything landed (by total randomness) in a complete different one. As it is we’re unable to deactivate the button at this time. So once again… don’t ever (really, never ever!) use it!!!
So here’s what you should do instead. There’re two other great (and more reliable) ways to submit your art.
Method No. 1
Go to our gallery, select then the folder that fis your needs, and open it. Once it’s open, just click on the “+ Submit to this Folder” button above on your right. Now pick your artwork and confirm your choice… et voilá, your submission is up to vote by our team.
Method No. 2
Open the artwork which you would like to submit and then hit the “+ Submit to a Group” button under the “Featured in:” section on the very right of your artwork. Type the name of our group into the search box, confirm it, and wait a few seconds until a list with all our folders will appear. All you have to do now is to select the proper folder under the “Submit to the following folder” section and confirm your choice.
With more than over 1000 members we had to prevent our message inboxes to be flooded by too many submissions – so we’ve narrowed our submission limit down to 2 (yeah, that’s right ONLY TWO) pieces per week. This helps us immensely to decrease the numbers of daily submissions and to ensure as well that you’ll send us only your best artworks.
We’re always looking for new ways to improve the quality of our gallery. As the header right under our group avatar says we’re only interested in “High Quality Disney Fanart”. What does this mean for you? Well, make sure that you submit only your best (and we really mean only your best) works, choose always the correct folders, and follow our rules… at least that’s half the battle.
The other half depends on whether or not three of our admins will vote for your piece. Yeah, you read right… you’ll need altogether three votes out of seven to get your submission featured in our group. By doing so we have more control over what gets in. In our opinion it’s a very fair and democratic way to handle the entire submission business.
Each day we receive plenty of new gallery requests. So don’t worry if your piece of art isn’t be accepted with a few hours. Our team has an entire month to make its decision before the submission will expire. But this happens very seldom – usually our admins are pretty fast.
Nevertheless, please keep in mind that each of us has a normal life out there, as well. Away from the computer, internet, and devaintART – you can’t expect us to dedicate our entire time 24/7 to this group. So be patient and stay calm.
During the past we had quite a lot of trouble with wrong-submitted stuff. It appeared to us that our previous system had too many individual folders so that people obviously got confused by it. So we came up with our recent only 16-folder-system. Now finding the correct folder is easier than ever.
This journal entry worldofdisney.deviantart.com/j… serves as an info panel to help you to understand our folder system. (We highly recommend you to read it before submitting anything!!!)
Quite a lot of people send us each day more and more submissions which aren’t appropriate for our group – either it isn’t Disney-related (hello, this is a Disney group after all!?!), doesn’t meet our rated G standards or is in one way or another stolen.
So once more to make this clear: whenever a submission falls short of our required standards it will be declined!!! (no exceptions whatsoever)
This journal entry worldofdisney.deviantart.com/j… features an exact list of all the forbidden stuff. (We highly recommend you to read it before submitting anything!!!)
As already mentioned above we try to increase the quality of this group… so don’t take it too personal if our admins vote against one of your pieces. Yeah, we know that art is in the eye of the beholder, but different people may have different opinions about the same matter.
In this journal entry worldofdisney.deviantart.com/j… you’ll find all the possible reasons why your artwork could be rejected. (We highly recommend you to read it before submitting anything!!!)
Please, don’t blame nor get mad at us if your submission was declined. It’s really nothing personal - we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. Just accept the fact that your piece didn’t make it into our gallery (it’s not the end of the world, you know). And if you can’t handle the possibility of a rejection, then you should reconsider your wish to join us.
It may appear strange or unfair to you, but once you’re in you’re definitively in. What does this mean? Well, as soon as you decide to leave our group we’ll have to delete all your previous submitted art and put you on our block list. By doing so we can avoid people to join us just to spam our gallery and then leave the group right away (sadly, this happened quite often before). Therefore you should be really certain about leaving or staying. Your art won’t be featured any longer because we’re only interested in the work of our current, active members. You won’t find a single piece from a former member within our folders whatsoever. Sorry, but at this time we can’t make any exceptions. So, don’t complain afterwards and say that you didn’t know about it.
I know that some of you think that rules suck and take away the fun of being a member, but without them there would be total chaos. You don’t have to agree with us on each and every single issue, but we expect that you respect and obey our rules nevertheless. There’s no reason for arguing or discussion – everything will stay unchanged until we want to change something.
All that being said (well… written in this case) there’s nothing more I can think of to say to you except that we all can expect great things from you. I’m pretty sure that each and every one of you will enhance our gallery.
Thanks for your understanding and reading all this!!!
